Sailing Handicap Percentages are based on the Guildford MYC "predicted performance" system. See 'Explanation' They are continuously calculated using results of the last 12mths sailing in all club events. Where a skipper sailed at least three races in the last 12 months, an average handicap score is taken after cancelling the best and worst performances. If a skipper has sailed less than 3 times, the maximum (100%) handicap will be used at the end of the season to calculate handicap percentages. All a skipper's race results are used to calculate the handicap score
The Results tables show the Skipper's sailing record over the last 12mths of Club sailing. The skipper with the current smallest total points score is leading the club series, and if that result continued until the end of the season, would win the points series. Similarly the skipper with the highest Handicap Improvement is leading the club handicap series. Handicap improvement is the current change from the skipper's 'end of the previous season's handicap percentage'.
