The 2011 PRACC series started off on Sunday 20th March. with a closely fought event at Hampton Court MYC. After a few adjustments, PRO Colin Trower was able to set a good long course the full length of the Rick Pond and the fluctuating 8-10mph wind kept all the skippers on their toes. Picking the right shift was important all day long.
The good turn out of 20 boats were sailed as 2 fleets and the race team managed to complete 9 races before the agreed finishing time of 4.20pm.
Peter Wiles and Dave Andrews were the most consistent skippers in the fleet, as can be seen from the final results, although they didnt have things all their own way. Trevor Binks, Lester Gilbert and the mighty Vernon Appleton (who appears to have found the right boat for himself, sailing Tom Wilkinsons bright red Sweet Mk9 into 4th place) all had their moments.

The
days racing was in the right spirit with no protests and everyone appeared to enjoy
themselves. Thanks to Colin and his race team, particularly young William who was given
the task of sprinting between the race team at the lake and the HMS scorer,
LaurieBower, in the Clubhouse.
